Ok, you tell me if boxing NEEDS a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Of course a Pac vs Money fight is amazing. However, Pacquiao-Bradley and Marquez-Peterson are the next more formidable match-ups out there. I do believe Bradley can give Pacquiao all the Filipino can handle. What you think about the …

No matter how many times we tell ourselves that we’re not going to get sucked into the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao subterfuge, we always do. However, Mayweather relayed something in his phone call to Pacquiao last week that indicated what we probably already knew, that is Floyd isn’t as …
Mayweather thinks he’s a better boxer and talent than Pacquiao. He might be right. Mayweather also thinks he’s a bigger attraction than Pacquiao. He’s wrong.
Pacquiao’s the guy who attracted 40,000 and 50,000 to Cowboy Stadium. Pac’s the man who has sold out the MGM Grand with record gates for his last two fights while doing more than 1 million PPV buys for each show. The last time Mayweather sold out the Garden Arena was when he fought Ricky Hatton (and trust me, the joint was packed with drunk-ass British fans that night, not these message board jokers who think Floyd would have spanked Ray Robinson). Mayweather’s fights with JM Marquez, Shane Mosley and Victor Ortiz (all at the MGM) did not sell out. Don’t get me wrong, they did terrific PPV numbers. Floyd is a bona-fide boxing superstar. But Pacquiao is a little bit bigger on the international stage, and Arum knows it.

Manny Pacquiao just called Floyd Mayweather, Jr.s bluff.
Will Mayweather call Pacquiao’s bluff?
The “tweet” heard around the world of boxing got a response from it’s intended recipients. Pacquiao, together with his camp, have issued multiple statements to the media that the fighting congressman of Sarangani City, is …

Upon arriving from Manila Wednesday for a whirlwind meeting with promoter Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao told reporters here in General Santos City there should be no problem staging the fight between him and Floyd Mayweather Jr in May.
The caveat? Mayweather should not dictate the manner of splitting …
Personally, I won’t be fooled by Mayweather’s public challenge and recent interest in the bout.
Instead, I will listen to promoter Bob Arum (Pacquiao’s charge) and Richard Schaefer (handling Mayweather’s recent bouts). Arum and Schaefer regularly trade public insults through boxing media outlets and neither has made comments about Mayweather – Pacquiao being a reality for May 5th.
As for Mayweather, before a sudden itch to fight Pacquiao, most press clippings seemed a fight with Robert Guerrero was more than likely for May 5th.

Manny Pacquiao knows there are a lot of barriers to his fighting Floyd Mayweather.
He wants to make it clear that he’s not one of them.
“I am meeting with my promoter, Bob Arum (today) and I will insist that the fight with Mayweather be given the preference …
RING No. 1-rated pound-for-pound fighter Manny Pacquiao will select as his next opponent either WBA junior middleweight beltholder Miguel Cotto, WBA/WBO lightweight titleholder Juan Manuel Marquez, IBF/WBA junior welterweight beltwinner Lamont Peterson or Peterson’s WBO division counterpart Tim Bradley.
The selection process will begin on or after January 10, Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, and his advisor, Michael Koncz., both told RingTV.com on Monday.
The 33-year-old Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 knockouts) is coming off of his 15th straight win, November’s disputed majority decision over the 38-year-old Marquez (53-6-1, 39 KOs), whom he had battled through a draw and a split-decision victory in two prior meetings.
A southpaw whose run includes nine knockouts, Pacquiao also has vanquished the 31-year-old Cotto (37-2, 30 KOs), whom he dethroned by 12th-round stoppage in November of 2009 for his current WBO welterweight belt.
